The past few months have seen a massive influx of spam accounts being created on our forums. In an effort to quell the brigands, we enabled administrator approval for all accounts created. This worked to keep the spammers from posting, but not from creating accounts, which totally mucked with the boards.

So this post is to let everyone know that we have, for now, disabled account creation for our forums.

Getting around this should be relatively painless -- simply contact the following people to get an account created and activated if you would like one:

You may also contact Hitman or Cagaleche, but I do not have their e-mail addresses handy (I will edit them in once I get them).

Just a general information post:

I've deleted several new bot-based accounts (this is an on-going process, actually, so if you are reading this post months after its original posting date, rest assured it is still true). If you happened to fall into this category of deleted accounts, please re-register with an e-mail from a more general, well-known e-mail host (hotmail, yahoo, msn, etc.). Otherwise, not only will your account not be activated but the domain on which your e-mail resides may be banned from these forums as well.

Also, if you could fill in basic information while registering, it would go a long way toward being able to tell your legit account from a not-so legit one. An example being a user who is supposedly from "Wisconsin" but whose time zone is set to +3GMT.

Also, I wouldn't be opposed to you adding the phrase, "I love Ghost!" in your information; it would go a long way to getting your account activated as well. ;)

We used to have a comprehensive list of forum rules, but those were lost during the Great Forum Cataclysm of 2000™.

Clan Impulse asks that you follow these simple rules while posting in our forums:

1) No cursing: Through our many years of gaming, we have come to appreciate the effects that cursing can have on both our gaming experience and our forum experience. It's okay to get frustrated, but we are all adults here and as such expect our members and friends to act like adults. We won't be nazi-like about this, but we prefer to keep the public forums to a "PG" level in terms of content.

2) Do Unto Others: We are a friendly group of people, and as such we will NEVER tolerate: Racism, name-calling, gender bashing; basically, treat others the way you want to be treated: with respect and a degree of dignity. Handle your issues like an adult. If you can't do that, you'll be banned faster than a hacker on steroids.

3) Now Listen Here: Any member of Clan Impulse is considered an owner of this website and these boards. We simply ask that you comply with any and all reasonable requests made of you by a member of [CI]. Okay so our forums is brand spankin' new. Not sure what the deal was with the old forums. Thought it was being fixed, but looks like the domain is gone.

So here we are. I just threw together what groups I could think of off the top of my head. Also will need to get all the moderators and admins setup. Oh ya... and the themes and banner etc. Just figured I'd let everyone know so we can start getting people registered.

Thanks to Infra for fixing the main site. I accidentally over wrote a config file. Oopsies. :oops:
